Funny I thought of doing the same thing (taking a picture of my canning for my blog that is). It really helps to explain when people ask, "So, what have you been up to?" I think I put in 4 weeks of solid canning efforts this summer! Whew!
Grandma would be proud! In fact, all of your Grandma's would be proud. Do you remember Grandma Meng sitting at a card table in the kitchen, apron, bowl in front of her, peeling piles of fruit? Grandma Reed loved the memory of her Grandma's (Harer and Lingren) serving up big noontime farm dinners for all the workers, and lined up down the center of the tables were jars of chutney, relish, jam, and preserves. Grandma Reed (Grace) had a fruit house filled with tons (literally) of canned fruits, applesauce, vegetables, pickles, relishes, and meats. I have never seen a woman work as hard as she did, and all perfectly done. May each of their memories be eternal. Thank you for carrying on the tradition. I love you. Mom
I finally finished all my canning this week and used up every last jar I own. The last thing was spiced crabapples from our neighbors tree. There is something so satisfying about preserving!

Pretty impressive!
We picked figs at a local orchard last week and made fig preserves this week. Delicious!
